K-ON!

Alright I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews on this show, most of them calling it a giant blob of cuteness with cute frosting and cute multicolored sprinkles. I can’t disagree with these sugar coated words neither can I disagree with the overall lack of depth we’ve seen from the first episode and noted by other bloggers and critics. All right I have no expectations for this show in terms of teaching me some deep valuable lesson about the human condition or the importance of family; however, I do expect lots of laughs, cuteness, and Mio being an awesome Tsundere. Basically for me it’s Lucky Star season 2 with a band. How awesome is that! I loved Lucky Star!

For those people who didn’t like Lucky Star it’s quite possible you won’t like this on the other hand K-ON definitely seems to have a plot that is progressing in a linear direction unlike Lucky Star which was just a mix of little situational jokes. If the material comes from a 4 panel comic what did you expect. However, both Lucky Star and K-ON! Are extremely character driven comedies. They also have very similar characters only instead of Konata being the leading lady this time it seems Tsukasa gets the lime light. Maybe I’ll do a little bit about how each character has their counterparts later, but it’s a very tested strategy with Konata saying something ridiculous and Kagami delivering the punch line. Only this time it’s the adorable Mio. Seriously she looks confused in every picture almost. My favorite moment of the first episode is when she gets kicked under the table .

I will definitely be watching this show to its completion unless it drastically changes its formula. Sure it’s a tried and true method for Kyoto Animations online cheap ampicillin but you can’t dislike it just because you’ve seen something like it before. How much of anime is the same story over and over again? How many of us have watched anime’s like Asu no Youichii and seriously expected something different?
