I’ve done this twice before to no real effect. If you come here often you probably already know most of the list, but I thought I would go ahead and post a list for posterity’s sake. I also like to give shows a chance to show me what they’re made of before posting stuff like this. That’s why I wait so long.

Disclaimers: This is by no means a definitive order purchase cheap pharm cheap pharmacy list. I tried a bunch of animes at the beginning of the season with the result of dropping quite a few after the first episode. A couple of them I picked back up, but all and all I haven’t been watching as many animes as I usually do. If I’m missing out on any must watch animes you should definitely comment and let me know.

Order: I really don’t feel like ranking these in order of my favorites as it’s completely subjective so instead I’ll rank in three categories from 0 to 5: Enjoyment, Storytelling, and Bonus (where bonus is points given for some other factor. The three categories are still completely subjective, but whatever.

Seitokai no Ichizon

Enjoyment 4 | Storytelling 4 | Bonus 0

I actually just wrote a post about this series. The story is pretty original and well written. The characters are likeable and we’re slowly getting a closer look at all of their back stories while laughing every five minutes. This show has realized a lot of potential while still making me hold my breath for the episodes still to come.

Fairy Tail

Enjoyment 2 | Storytelling 1 | Bonus 2

I really only watch this show because I read the manga (I read the manga because… I really don’t know why I read the manga). It’s aimed at a younger audience and is heavily influenced by the One Piece author. I can’t really get into the world, but it gets bonus points for casting Aya Hirano as Lucy, Simon’s voice actor from TTGL as Natsuu, and Rie Kugimiya as Happy. I don’t know how they got so many talented voice actors/actresses, but they’re pretty fun to listen to.

Darker than Black: Ryuusei No Gemini

Enjoyment 4 | Storytelling 4 | Bonus 3

I guess this one isn’t a surprise. I couldn’t give it full Storytelling or Enjoyment points because I just don’t feel either is as good as the first season. I’ve written more than enough about this show so I doubt I need to say more here :). It gets bonus points for having Yin, pretty good music, and great contractor battles. This is really a much watch show along with the first season.

Sora No Otoshimono

(Aside: If you don’t think that image represents the show I don’t think we’re watching the same thing :x)

Enjoyment 3 | Storytelling 1 | Bonus 0

I honestly dropped this series after the first episode. It took a few other good posts on it to get me to go watch it again. I don’t know what to say. Have they taken the male protagonist being perverted to a new level? Perhaps, but probably not… I think it’s a cross between Chobits, Every Harem Comedy Ever, and Munto! It’s fun to watch, but I’ll forget about it as soon as I stop watching it. It needs to develop its characters (giving them back stories isn’t enough).

To Aru Kagaku No Railgun

Enjoyment 3| Storytelling 2.5 | Bonus 2

I would probably give it a higher enjoyment score if I hadn’t already read the manga. I think they need to get away from the yuri a little and get back on track with the story (hence the storytelling score). It’s a really good show and it definitely gets bonus points for the characters, but overall it feels like another cookie cut with the JC Staff Cookie Cutter. I know this series is good and made my list so it must be worth watching ;).

Nyan Koi!

Enjoyment 4| Storytelling 1| Bonus 2

This series really surprised me. I have to say that it’s nothing original in terms of character types, but overall it’s a highly enjoyable series. I think it has a lot to do with comedic timing and I praise the creators for their prowess. It also is just a show that knows what it is. It doesn’t throw a serious drama at you in the middle of the episode; it just continues making joke after joke. I don’t like everything about this show, but so far it’s definitely worth watching.

That concludes the list. I tried not to spoil anything and for the most part I think I succeeded. If you want to actually discuss these shows I’ve written posts about at least three of them at this point and might write about the others at some point in the future. So what do you guys think? Anything I’m missing out on?

Hmmm, I never managed to start on Fairy Tail, but glad to see I’m not missing much there :)

And we sure as hell are seeing the same thing for Otoshimono. I don’t know, I actually like the simple premise of an essentially non-human character developing and discovering humanity. I think it opens up a lot of avenue for interesting ideas and even good drama. Chobits never cashed in on it, and things don’t at all look optimistic for Otoshimono either, which appears hell-bent on focusing on fanservice  The only thing I’m really still looking forward to in this show at this point is more Icarus bad-assery.

I don’t even know what I’m looking forward too. They haven’t done much with their characters. The chibi versions of them are funny sometimes, but overall there isn’t much substance :(.

I guess I’m also watching Needless, but that started last season so I didn’t really count it.

hey there, i just start reading your blog and i like it  so i’m gonna share some oppinions here ;-)
your scores with the shows above are nearly the same as me, but for Sora no Otoshimono, it’s not that bad. yeah i also thought it was just sh*t with panties fly around the naked boy and drop it after watching the fisrt episode, but then i’ve seen more (not just panties  )I start to like thier characters, especially Ikaros-san and Nymph. Ikaros just perfect with her expression, and Nymph just like Nagi with wings (and no money  )That thinking start growing after i watch the 8th one. From then the show is really great. And i absolutely love the 10th episode  . So, imo it’s a fine show and worth watching too
P/s: thanks for the Toradora! sheet. that’s the fisrt thing leads me to your blog

Yeah, the 10th episode was pretty good. I’m not sure if I would really raise the rankings though. The scene where the villain made Nymph rip off her pet birds wings was pretty sick. I applaud the writers for their ability to be malicious. Still, I’m not sure if a couple scenes can redeem the whole series, we’ll have to see. I suppose it deserves a few more points, but it’s going to have to do a lot better to move up.
