Tsuchida the Player (Hanamaru Kindergarten Episode 1)

Would you believe me if I told you I was now as excited about this series as I am about Durarara!!? You’re right, I wouldn’t buy that either. I, however, was very happy to find that Gainax did not sink my ship of dreams. Hanamaru Kindergarten is going to be an interesting show.
So let’s get the negative stuff out of the way early. First off, yes it’s going to be similar to a harem comedy; there are several teachers and a housewife. Conversely we’re also focusing on kindergarten moe blobs who are already little people. Furthermore, we’ve also been interacting a lot with the families in the first episode. I actually think that makes this show promising and here’s why.
The comedy isn’t focused on our protagonist accidentally touching girls. We’re not subject to fifty thousand panty flashes as a form of entertainment. They aren’t peddling their characters as objects and yet the show is extremely… cute.
I also like how our protagonist actually is normal. Lots of manga and where to buy doxycycline anime heroes claim in the first episode that they are *blank* a normal high school student who only normal things happen to only to go and save their friend from space monsters at the end of the day. Tsuchida is normal in every way and I admire his dedication to picking a job to pick up all the hot kindergarten teachers… I didn’t say that.
Overall the characters are filled with personality, whimsical optimism, and kindness. There probably won’t be any stakes in this anime apart from Anzu climbing trees and getting in all sorts of other mischief, but that’s alright with me. Sometimes a hero doesn’t need to save the world; he just has to show up for work on time :).
Anzu is like Yui, only it’s ok that Anzu is like Yui because she’s in kindergarten. It isn’t ok that Yui is like Yui because she’s in high school. Quod erat Demonstrandum.
Hanamaru kindergarten is a different kind of show. They’re focusing on heroes who are almost never in the spotlight in a world we barely ever see. Has Gainax done it again? That’s doubtful at best. I’m not expecting another Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagann, but why would I want them to replace Gurren Lagann. Overall I’d give this show a Waku Waku!
Other Mentionables
He totally just checked her out!
Wait a tic… you’re telling me a teacher married and impregnated one of his students… and this was a high school student. Is this really legal?
This is our Protagonist…
Tsuchida the player. You scurvy dog you!

Sakura-senpai is dangerous. I fear for all young girls in her vicinity. This show is going to end with forty marriages between twenty-five year olds and five year olds.
It’s Kagami as a kindergärtner. This series just got infinitely better. Now all we need is Tsukasa. Oh wait she’s the girl with brown hair.

What I’ve Learned From Anime!
Definitions
Friendship: Putting yourself in mortal danger to recover your friend’s precious item.
Love: Like friendship only the friends are of the opposite sex.
A REAL PALMTOP TAIGA!! I want one… Why didn’t I get a Taiga for Christmas? Santa Clause you drunk!

The classic insomnia trap. You always think it’s only going to be five more minutes (or one more chapter of manga, or one more episode of anime, or… you get it).

Scratch the title. Tsuchida the would be playa. He’s got great positioning but a horrible end game. Take the king already!
Ok seriously, what kind of parent is she? My first reaction would have been to call “To Catch a Predator”.
Tsuchida, you’ve just got nothin’ going on as a playa’ do you.
I wish I was back in kindergarten again… Wait, what? No I don’t!

I remember reading winter season previews and going eyebrow-raised when I saw Gainax kindergarten anime. And I fear to admit how attractive your post just made the series look D=
And damn, I’m impressed again by the speed in which you move *looking at ‘quotables’ section*
It’s called an RSS feed accompanied with writing at my computer. It doesn’t take me very long to realize their is a comment or a new blog post most of the time. Is that a little sad? I like to not think so.
I’m glad I made it look attractive. I think it could be a lot of fun.
