@descent

Some people around have been saying the traps part was a little cliche and dumb

Those are exactly the kind of people I addressed my post "To all the Mayoi Neko Overrun Haters". Basically they're dumb if they want original content all the time. Saying this show is 90% original is pretty amazing if they actually stopped and thought about it, but they didn't. They want to find fault in it because they can't stand to see people praise it, or something along those lines.

This isn't all of the people who have problems with angel beats, just the ones who would point out something like that.

@Jason

I replied to your comment in the post "The Angel's Beat" today.

Haha great verses! :D

While this show doubtlessly stays on my watchlist like glue, I'm a lot more mixed about what I feel about it. The one major thing I disagree with you about is P.A. Works. I think.. they are doing a somewhat sub-par job, with shockingly bad production values in the first ep (thank heavens it's better this ep) and overall lack of interesting directing. It also feels like we're not milking some of the going-ons enough, like we're walking through everything somewhat linearly without deliberating on or lingering with some of the more interesting elements. I do admit that I'm pinning them up against KyoAni and Shaft right from the get-go but that's only natural given the nature of the show no? :P

The OP and ED are surprisingly good though as you noted. The material itself is definitely intriguing stuff. I just cannot shake the feeling that it could all have been a lot better with a solid budget and a really strong animator behind the show.

Great job Dustin, I loved reading this creative review. Man I felt the same way, it was like every other scene had me telling myself "its can't be this good, oh yes it is!".

I cannot believe how dark Yuri's past is. Its hard to fathom how anyone could even devise a event so cruel. It was obvious that Otonashi sees her and the SSS in a new light after that was revealed. I
m pretty sure I wouldn't be able to keep going, not in that life or the next.

Guild itself and more importantly its destruction was definitely a high point. Watching a textbook demolition was fun. Tenshi falling started with a few badly drawn frames but looked pretty cool once she randomly started to twinkle while falling into the burning put.

Some people around have been saying the traps part was a little cliche and dumb but honestly with 13-eps and a cast this large it gave us a 10 minute sequence that let us learn a bit more about the characters while having a pretty good time. They even threw relationship development in there, props to them. Hinanta's precious sacrifice was the best.

This is going to be an amazing ride, keep it coming!
